There’s something profoundly magical about capturing the journey of a family, especially when it involves the transformation of their living spaces and the growth of their family. Recently, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful series of sessions for a family that is close to my heart. This journey took us from their old house, through the exciting news of a new baby on the way, to their stunning new build, and finally to welcoming their precious newborn.

Capturing Memories in the Old House

When I first photographed this lovely family, we were at their old home, a place filled with cherished memories and the warmth of their love. It was during this session that they shared the wonderful news – they were expecting! To commemorate this new chapter, we decided to create a special series of sessions that would document their journey from the old house to the new, with their growing family at the heart of it all.

The New Build: Anticipation and Excitement

Fast forward to our next session, set amidst the framework of their new home under construction. The anticipation and excitement were palpable as they envisioned the future and all the new memories to be made in this space. It was a perfect backdrop to celebrate their maternity session, capturing the love and hope that comes with expecting a new baby.

As an Indianapolis family and maternity photographer, it’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do. Each session is a unique story, a chapter in a book that will be cherished for generations. The glow of the expectant mother, the joy in the father’s eyes, and the little moments of connection – these are the details that make each session so special.

Welcome Home, Baby

Finally, we returned to their completed new home, now filled with the sweet presence of their newborn. This series of sessions beautifully encapsulated their journey, from the first steps in their old house to the new beginnings in their new home. It was an absolute joy to see their family grow and to be able to capture these precious moments for them.
